Briefly discribe the images found on your artifacts

The Plate:

Ther is a lamb with a human-like face.  The lamb is carrying a long stick that has a banner at the end.  The banners has what looks to be someone's initials.

The Basket:

There is a pheasant in the center which is surrounded by eight different designs which make up the walls of the basket. The pheasant appears to be on a branch and is surrounded by flower-pike objects.

List the various images found on your artifacts and determine their meaning

The Lamb is a religious symbol that represents Christianity.  Surrounded by a crown of light it most likely represents Jesus Christ.  We also noticed seven symbols beneath the lamb.  We guessed that they may represent the seven days of the week, or the fact that the bible says it took seven days to create the world.  None the less, seven is an important and symbolic number is Christianity.

The Pheasant is often seen as a symbol of Royalty and may indicate that the basket belonged to someone of high ranking or power.

Create a hypothesis about where this object may have been found and who it may have been belonged to

The plate seems to be a plaque that was once on a church door.  There even seems to be a keyhole on the left side.

The basket probably belonged to a person son wealth in Colonial Mexico, and may have even belonged to a Royal Family.

What, if anything, was similiar amongst all the artifacts examined

Many of the artifacts that we examined contained letters and initials.  A few of the pieces contained hearts with various designs.
