"I was surprised to see these awesome artifacts because they looked cool and I couldn't beleive we would be using them.
People in the past made these items to celebrate special occasions.
I think its cool that we are using these artifacts because we are able to learn about them and about what people did in the past with them.
I would like to learn how these artifacts were made and who made them."
Adriana's RAICE:
"When Mr. Flores took out the first piece I was so excited. All I could think was WOW.
They told us that people from the past must have had strong feelings about Christianity.
I'm excited about what else we can do in the classroom using these pieces.
I want to learn more about how these artifacts were made and who made them."

"When I first saw the artifacts, I thought it was awesome that we would be studying these cool objects.
People in the past must have thought that Christianity was important.
I felt so lucky to have these valuable artifacts in my hands

The people from them past able to speak to us and tell us about the times they lived in and the churches they worshiped in.
They are valuable to teach about people, past and present.

The people who made these artifacts must have used them for something important.
Using these artifacts in the classroom would be cool. We can get so much information from the pictures.

"When I first saw the silver artifacts, my intitial reactions was WOW, because they had all the different kinds of symbols that we were working with.
Faith and the Christian religion must have been important to the people who made and used these artifacts
It would be a fun experience to continue to examine new cultures and discover history in artifacts.

"I felt so lucky and cool when i found out what we were going to be studying.

The classrooms will deffinately look different.

I think that the artifacts say that the people who owned them were very wealthy and religious.
I think it's good to use them in the classroom because you can learn more about artifacts.

They must have been religious people.
I'm so excited that we are going to get to touch artifacts that are almost 300 years old.
